The Summer Meeting Is Going Virtual

Due to the uncertainty and concerns surrounding the SARS-nCoV pandemic, the GPPA Executive Committee called an emergent vote of the Board of Directors to determine whether the organization should proceed with the planned programs and events. After working hand in hand with the Executive Office to thoroughly review all available options and poll the membership, the GPPA Executive Committee determined that it is the correct message and in the best interest of the constituency to switch the 2020 GPPA Summer CME Meeting to a virtual program.
The GPPA Executive Office with the support of the Executive Committee worked diligently with The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island to negotiate canceling the 2020 venue contract without a substantial penalty. The end result was an amicable agreement to cancel the August 2020 dates.
The GPPA Board of Directors understands the importance of the educational sessions and continuing medical education credits provided at the Summer CME Meeting. In the coming weeks additional information will be forwarded highlighting the selected topics and speakers for the GPPA Virtual Summer Meeting.
